Dr. Fleming joins award-winning singer/songwriter David Wilcox in the studio for a recording session and then sits down for a thought provoking dialogue on the healing power of music for our culture’s maladies. Specifically, how therapy and music can ‘mimic’ the age old searching for the wisdom of the heart and how many hidden errors can block each craft from getting to ……the REAL truth of beauty and change.
As many may know, Dr. Fleming is also an accomplished singer/songwriter, guitarist and studio drummer and has joined many of the Americana music genre ‘greats’ on stage (Ellis Paul, Paul Thorn, John Gorka, Robbie Schaefer, David Wilcox, and Richard Shindell). Doc also wrote a tune with Ellis Paul for his wife, called “Ms Understood”, where he played drums again and did vocals, alongside two-time Grammy nominated female vocalist, Eliza Gilkyson. Check it out here:

Leon Russell (6 Gold Records, 2 Grammy Awards, Rock n Roll Hall of Famer, and session musician with many of the greats from Eric Clapton to Rolling Stones to Sinatra to Elton John) has his music roots in Tulsa OK and his recording pad—-The Church Studio—-recently opened in Spring 2022 after a renovation, attracting top notch talent (Kenny Loggins, Taj Mahal, Jackson Browne, to name a few) to roll through Tulsa to make a presence at this great place.
Dr. Fleming recently joined with recording artist Stephen Kellogg (touring Summer 2022 with the Counting Crows) to do an co-arrangement of his song “Song for Our Daughters”. Doc did vocals and guitars alongside Stephen for an intimate rendition of this beautiful tune, rich with psychological wisdom for many teens struggling in our world today around self-image, perfectionism, and overall worth. A great tune to “re-wire” what really matters in the hearts and brains of our children. Listen here:
Dr Fleming and Stephen Kellogg then did a concert together, featuring their music, for a wonderful summer event. They are currently in discussions to create and promote a “music and neuroscience” retreat for those wanting to combine the powers of songwriting and neurotechnology to heal pains, create breakthroughs, and re-wire old narratives of self.
