Men and women who live the corporate lifestyle, often termed “the corporate grind” over time, are forced to become accustomed to a very high-stressed lifestyle. These people are usually responsible for overseeing an untold number of others and shouldering any number of added responsibilities. Many of these individuals are constantly traveling and trying to juggles various other life responsibilities such as, marriages, children and so on. All of this is in addition to any other various unique stressors that may be present with respect to the specifics of their particular corporate position. Corporate and related life stressors are often the cause for health related matters as well such as, hypertension, heart conditions, high blood pressure, etc.
The types of people that are likely to fall into this category might be, CEO’s, CFO’s, COO’s, politicians, bankers, investors, brokers, realtors and so on. You could even go so far as to add professional athletes into the discussion. So the million dollar questions is, “How can someone living the high-pressure corporate lifestyle learn to make adjustments that are practical to not only improving their health and state of being, but also which can serve to improve their overall level of productivity and effectiveness in their jobs.
Like anything else worthwhile in life, it is important to address matters of stress and health at a core level. There’s nothing wrong with living this type of lifestyle so long as the individual is able to integrate various components into their lives. This extends beyond traditional healthy eating, exercise, etc. Countering corporate stress and potential life burnout must occur lest a heavy price paid at some point down the road!
